Mentalizing and dynamics social interaction

In social interaction, we seek understanding and being understood. What behavioral and neural mechanism support such an interpersonal alignment? To explore this question, we observe real-time interaction of dyadic pairs of participants.

Depending on your time and interest, you may involve in sub-project(s) under the general question. We offer various opportunities of learning technical skills at different levels, from behavioral experiment to hyperscanning EEG, from basic to advanced statistics etc.. We will have open discussion about each other’s expectations and customize a training plan for you. Research internships typically range from 3 to 9 months. The duration of the internship will be determined in a mutual agreement.

Please note that preparing a competitive research project proposal for these grants usually takes several months. Don’t hesitate to get in touch with us well in advance if you are interested in developing such grant applications together!

Internships:
We welcome both national and international students interested in undertaking research internships in our lab. Some internship positions are currently open, which can be found on our website. If interested, please contact us and submit your CV along with a motivation letter. The duration of the internship will be determined in consultation with the responsible researcher and the head of the lab. Interns may receive varying degrees of autonomy to conduct research projects, either independently or under supervision, depending on the internship’s length. Typically, internships last from 2 to 9 months. International students are encouraged to apply through the ERASMUS program. Grant Information for PhD and Post-doc Candidates:
The FWO provides 4-year (2+2) grants to PhD students and 3-year grants to postdoctoral researchers, with two categories available: junior and senior. Application deadlines are typically around December 1st for postdoctoral researchers and around March 1st for PhD students. The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship offers grants lasting either 2 or 3 years.
